QUARTIER WALD - a "hybrid" art project in Solingen-Wald and in the internet
QUARTIER WALD is a long-term and "growing" art project (both online and offline) that brings art from museums and galleries onto the streets and appeals to all residents and visitors of Solingen-Wald.
The concept was developed by a team of Solingen artists together with the initiators, Manfred Hahn, who unfortunately died far too early, and his wife Gabi. The art project was and will be implemented in cooperation with the city of Solingen, solingen.digital as part of SMART CITY.
In the center of Solingen-WALD, ten street lights have been set up as "hotspots" since mid-November:
A large picture is attached to such a "hotspot" lantern as an eye-catcher. At eye level at the lamp post, interested passers-by will find a QR code with which they can use their smartphone to discover other works of art in the virtual space: photo series, paintings, drawings, sculptures - all related to the WALD district. It is even more practical for those who have the "Mensch-Solingen-App" from solingen.digital: It draws the user's attention to the art on site using so-called beacons.
